Growing together.
Genuine collaboration means to listen to each other, to respect each other and therefore to learn from each other. The group-wide synergies within CLAAS provide an outstanding opportunity to identify trends early on, jointly develop innovative products for a wide range of demands and rapidly make these available to farmers and contractors in series production.
CLAAS Tractor Vélizy. Where our tractors’ future starts.
Vélizy is the research and development centre of CLAAS Tractor SAS.
But it is also so much more. Vélizy is the home of 200 highly qualified engineers. A place where patents are developed. A world in which state-of-the-art design technologies are applied: 3D printing, virtual reality, simulation software and so much more…
Vélizy is divided into four main areas of competence:
- Cab & interior
- Engines and engine environment
- Power train, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Electrics and electronics (together with CLAAS Global E&E and CLAAS E-Systems Dissen)
CLAAS Tractor Trangé. A tractor’s entire life in four weeks.
With two test benches, the CLAAS testing and validation centre in Trangé boasts one of the most sophisticated and powerful testing facilities in the European agricultural technology industry.
These test benches allow CLAAS Tractor Trangé to conduct performance and reliability tests on both complete vehicles and vehicle parts with utmost precision and reproducibility.
As a result, CLAAS Tractor is able to master the challenges of ever more complex tractors and associated information systems. Capacities for prototype validation have been substantially increased thanks to investments. Almost all test benches run around the clock, seven days a week, to accelerate fatigue tests, bring tractors to market maturity faster and more reliably and thus reduce the costs of product development.
Naturally, field trials also form an essential part of the complex development process. Trials are carried out on the fields of partner businesses all over the world every day, sometimes under extreme operating conditions.
All this leads to our customers benefiting from even more reliable CLAAS tractors. Today and in the future.
Wheel hub dynamometer for performance and efficiency tests of the power train. Here, engines, gearboxes, axles and hydraulic systems as well as the associated software are thoroughly checked as part of overall tractor systems.
4-point Hydropuls for evaluating and improving our tractors’ durability, reliability, comfort and design.
CLAAS Tractor – CLAAS Industrietechnik Paderborn.
The cradle of TERRA TRAC and EQ technology.
CLAAS Industrietechnik in Paderborn, Germany, develops, tests and builds key components for our standard CLAAS tractors in close collaboration with CLAAS Tractor. The infinitely variable split-power EQ 200 transmission has featured in our ARION 500 CMATIC and ARION 600 CMATIC machines since 2015, and the EQ 220 has been part of the ARION 660 CMATIC since 2017.
Since 2020, TERRA TRAC crawler tracks have featured not only in CLAAS combine harvesters and foragers to help protect soils, fields and pastures and minimise external widths, but also in the AXION TERRA TRAC, the world’s first fully suspended tracked tractor.
Another innovation, the pioneering, self-learning, dialogue-based driver assistance and machine optimisation system CEMOS for tractors, was developed in collaboration between CLAAS Tractor SAS, CLAAS Self-Propelled Harvesters, CLAAS Industrial Technology and CLAAS E-Systems – and the system continues to be adapted to additional applications. In 2021, an international jury of 26 expert journalists awarded the CLAAS AXION 960 CEMOS the title of Sustainable Tractor of the Year. For CLAAS, this award highlights the relevance and uniqueness of the CEMOS dialogue system for tractors.
