Smart Farming with intelligent assistance systems for the JAGUAR
Digital assistance systems for the JAGUAR make precision field work easier, cut costs and are proven to reduce operator stress. With the help of the AUTO PILOT steering system's row sensors, GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 and CAM PILOT, CEMOS machine optimisation and AUTO FILL automatic filling system, operators can focus fully on the all-important harvesting process.
Digital assistance systems help JAGUAR operators work more efficiently with less stress. These are the findings of a recent study conducted by Cologne University of Applied Sciences, which showed that smart farming assistants in the JAGUAR, when used in combination, reduce fuel consumption by up to 13% while at the same time increasing throughput by around 10%. They were also found to noticeably reduce stress levels in ten out of twelve operators. For example, the AUTO FILL automatic trailer filling system reduced operator intervention to control the upper discharge chute by half. It does this by using a high-resolution camera to automatically controls the chute. Furthermore – depending on the assistance system used – actuation of the control lever is reduced by 15 to 29 % and turns of the steering wheel by 35 to 65%.
Always on track with the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 and CAM PILOT
With the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 and CAM PILOT automatic steering systems, JAGUAR operators can stop worrying about keeping to precisely the right track. The CAM PILOT camera system uses two 3D cameras to detect the swath to be picked up at speeds of up 15 km/h and automatically corrects any steering errors. Meanwhile, the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200 has an eye on the bigger picture. Using satellite signals, it automatically steers the JAGUAR along the tramlines with great efficiency – without overlapping, even on tricky, uneven terrain. The operator can keep an eye on the precision steering at all times on the 12-inch touchscreen.
Get the JAGUAR optimally set up with CEMOS AUTO PERFORMANCE
The CEMOS machine optimisation system ensures that the JAGUAR is correctly set up, whatever the situation. All the operator has to do is confirm the suggested parameters displayed on the screen in the cab. CEMOS maintains a constant engine speed by automatically adjusting the engine output and ground speed to the volume harvested. When the volume increases, the assistant reduces the ground speed, and when it decreases, the speed of the JAGUAR picks up again and the engine output reduces.
Thus CEMOS ensures stress-free working in addition to a smooth harvesting process and uniform crop flow. What's more. the machine optimisation system reduces diesel consumption in the JAGUAR by up to 12% while at the same time increasing performance by up to 7% per hectare and hour.
AUTO FILL lets the operator get on with driving
Filling the transport vehicle calls for precision to minimises crop losses. This normally puts forage harvester operators under a lot of stress – because it takes enormous concentration to drive and monitor the filling at the same time. In the JAGUAR, the AUTO FILL automatic filling system takes care of the filling. A high-resolution camera mounted on the discharge chute detects the transport vehicle and gauges the fill level.
Using 3D image analysis, the automatic trailer filling system controls the discharge chute and corrects it when the position of the JAGUAR or the transport vehicle changes. The operator can monitor the fill level on the screen and intervene in the process at any time. So without leaving the cab, they can easily respond to changing conditions caused by wind and rain, for example.
